John McAfee at war with HitBTC exchange: Leggi qui l’articolo in Italiano
Untiring and very precise, John McAfee continues to make people talk about himself. In one of his tweets a few days ago, he attacked cryptocurrency exchanges saying that they have become what he had initially fought against.
In particular, HitBTC has become his number one enemy. And McAfee explicitly asks his followers to boycott the exchange.
“The cryptocurrency exchanges have become what we initially fought against. Their power is now immense.
HitBTC, for example, has increased the suffering of millions of poor people who cannot afford the minimum buy-in because it is higher than their monthly income. Boycott them”, wrote McAfee.
It does not seem very credible that millions of poor people are suffering because of the HitBTC exchange. Without taking anything away from the annoyance and damage caused by the exchange, there are no hungry mobs on the street.
The strong language is sometimes used just to attract interest.
However, in response to the tweet, many HitBTC users complained about problems with the exchange. The main accusations are of funds being confiscated for months, very high commissions, inaccessible listing prices, never-ending airdrops, and there are also owners of tokens that are ignored by HitBTC.
ClearPoll (POLL) have asked to be removed from HitBTC since April. They have totally ignored us after several emails and tweet requests. They said they would and Now ignored us.

The complaints list gets longer and longer scrolling the tweets, but one of McAfee‘s associates has offered his help in solving the problems of people trapped in the exchange.
“Attention! You who suffered from the Hitbtc scam! Corporate timidly called and fixed my problem. What about you? I swear on my name, this exchange will no longer be, if every unethical problem I receive from you is not fixed! Send name and ticket # to [email protected]”.

The crypto-magnate has always preached against central banks and against the limits imposed by governments, while he is in favour of a peer-to-peer economy in which citizens can be truly free.
McAfee argues his boycott of centralized exchanges such as HitBTC, claiming that the big cryptocurrency players squeeze their customers, starting with the high commissions.
According to McAfee, through high commissions, HitBTC makes it difficult for many to enter the cryptocurrency world. This promotes the concentration of digital currencies in a few hands.
“I fired the first shot in the war that must be fought. Our exchanges are connected to our banks and our governments. To take down the entire system, we must first take down our exchanges.
Distributed exchanges are coming.
I have singled out @hitbtc because they are the worst.”

Yesterday, he also prepared a survey asking users if HitBTC offers its customers the services they expect:
Does Hitbtc offer the sevices you expect?

After his burst of tweets, McAfee clearly expected a response from the CEO of the exchange under accusation. Not receiving any response, he wrote:
36 hours and not a single response from HitBTC. Please God …. does this not tell you something about the character of their CEO? Please see what is happening here.
