AC Milan issues its own fan token with Socios

AC Milan will have its own token: it is called $ACM and will be issued thanks to the partnership with Chiliz

The token will be launched on the Socios.com platform in the coming weeks. With this partnership, Milan officially enters the world of cryptocurrencies and embarks on a path towards digital innovation. The aim is to increase its presence in the digital world, with increasingly interactive tools.

After all, Milan can boast 450 million fans worldwide: the club now has one more way to engage with them. In these times of empty stadiums, the choice is proving to be strategic to make the community of supporters feel part of the journey of their favourite team.

In fact, fans who buy $ACM will have access to a wide range of benefits and will also be able to participate in corporate decisions. In addition, they can enjoy rewards, VIP experiences and promotions.

Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer AC Milan, said:

“We are happy to join hands with Socios.com and welcome them to our family as a global partner. This partnership allows us to give our 450 million fans across the world another exciting way to interact with AC Milan, which is particularly important under the current circumstances created by the Covid-19 pandemic. As an innovative Club, one of our focus areas is modernization and this partnership helps us complete another important step in that direction”.

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO & Founder Chiliz and Socios.com, commented:

“I’m delighted to welcome AC Milan and their 450 million fans from across the world to Socios.com. Fans of the I Rossoneri will be able to enjoy unprecedented engagement with their favourite team, influencing the club in polls, accessing VIP rewards, exclusive promotions, chat forums and much more. The AC Milan partnership is a great start to a year in which we will work harder than ever on our mission to fully establish Fan Tokens as the ultimate fan engagement tool and as a powerful new revenue generator for the sports industry”.

Milan and other teams with their own tokens

Milan is not the first team to have its own token. In Italy, Juventus has been already using the JUV token to engage their fans for some time

In Switzerland, Young Boys initiated their partnership with Chillz last October and now also have their own fan token

In short, the sports world is moving at a fast pace towards tokenization.
