AC Milan lands on the blockchain

Sorare has announced that it has added the famous Italian football team to its platform.

Therefore, there are now five Italian Serie A football clubs on Sorare: Juventus FC, AS Roma, SSC Napoli, SS Lazio and AC Milan.

In total, the platform has 119 officially licensed clubs, including 18 from the Dutch Eredivisie, Belgian Jupiler Pro League and Japanese J1 League, and 10 from South Korean K League 1.

The most represented league, however, is the American MLSPA, with 26 clubs, while among the top European leagues the French Ligue 1 stands out with 6 clubs.

Some NFT auctions of AC Milan players have also been initiated, including Franck Kessie, Gianluigi Donnarumma and especially Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Sorare’s NFT that has sold for the highest price so far is that of a player from an Italian team, Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus, which fetched $290,000 at auction.

In total there are 500 NFTs of AC Milan for sale in the auction on Sorare, because in addition to the various versions of the NFTs of individual players, there are also packages of NFTs, which are currently already collecting bids for more than $1,000.

Sorare also combines two of the main areas of use for NFTs, namely video games and collecting.

Sorare and the NFTs of AC Milan on the blockchain

The NFTs sold by Sorare are the digital equivalent of the traditional football stickers, classic collectors’ items for past generations. In the new digital version, these cards have become NFTs, and are traded online for sometimes extraordinary amounts of money.

In addition, Sorare is also an online game, i.e. the digital version of fantasy football, with the NFTs of the players that can be used to form teams that compete against each other in special tournaments.

The combination of these two things makes the Sorare project one of the world’s leading projects for the use and trading of NFTs, albeit at prices not comparable to, for example, artworks
