Lucky Maneki: NFTs appear in Times Square

Lucky Maneki Community has chosen the largest billboard in New York’s Time Square for the launch of its new collection of Japanese NFT cats.

Advertising for NFTs

According to reports, the new line of Non fungible tokens will consist of 11,358 avatars. Specifically, each new Maneki Gang NFT has 8 different traits: background, skin, eyes, mouth, hat, collar, clothes and paw.

Also referred to as the “Luckiest NFTs on the Ethereum Blockchain”, these Maneki Gangs join the Lucky Maneki Community’s previous collection of 14,159 NFTs released on 30 August 2021.

On top of that, the Time Squares billboard advertising campaign is apparently not the only mode of promotion for the kittens.

Weeks prior to the launch, the Lucky Maneki brand had been featured on Von_Schiller Live Stream and a few NBA Top Shot influencer YouTube channels for special giveaways.

Additionally, the Maneki Gang Reveal Party was hosted on Discord on the day of the new collection reveal.

Lucky Maneki Brand NFT: marketing, decentralization and metaverse

Lucky Maneki Community’s decision to promote its brand and the new NFT collection suggests that marketing also has a certain impact on the collectible token sector.

The brand’s stated objectives include not only increasing the number of unique owners of both collections, but also the creation of a merchandise shop.

Not only that, staying in the decentralized world, the Lucky Maneki Community would like to implement the community’s DAO and launch new collections to create metaverse experiences.

In practice, the project is cultivated and maintained directly by the decentralized community.

The vote of each member matters and each Lucky Maneki Brand NFT can increase user participation in the DAO. In this sense, each Lucky Maneki Brand NFT holder will have unlimited rights to license, copy and display the purchased art in any way they choose.

A sort of “decentralized brand” structure, with challenges and rewards included.

Here too, as with other already popular NFT projects, the idea will be to create a metaverse in the world of Luckeania, in which the Maneki are the protagonist creatures, magical and possessing energies of luck and prosperity.

NFTs and Metaverse: the different points of view

At the end of August, John Hanke, CEO of Niantic and creator of Pokémon Go, spoke out on the subject of metaverse, stating the “metaverse as a dystopian nightmare”.

According to Hanke, the metaverse, pursued by many NFT creators, could become the worst human nightmare. In essence, if this new dimension is not shown to be a technological development serving humanity, the risk is that it will instead become a virtual refuge from reality.

Yet, the number of NFT projects creating new meta-verses is clearly growing.

In addition to the announced Lucky Maneki Community, other projects such as OVR‘s decentralized platform for geolocalized Augmented Reality (AR) / Virtual Reality (VR) experiences continue to expand.

Even Facebook has jumped on board the metaverse. Mark Zuckerberg himself is reported to have said in an interview that the company may soon turn into a metaverse, and that Facebook is working on it.
