Samsung: 3 new 2022 TV models with integrated NFT platform

Samsung Electronics today announced three new TV models for 2022 with an integrated NFT platform that enables trading of digital artworks.

Samsung: TVs with integrated NFT trading arrive

Today, Samsung Electronics announced its 3 new TV models for 2022: MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame, and for all models, the NFT platform is integrated.

Here’s how it describes the new integrated application in the post:

“NFT Platform: This application features an intuitive, integrated platform for discovering, purchasing and trading digital artwork through MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame”.

So it seems the ‘NFTmania’ is not going to stop in this 2022 and electronics giant Samsung is confirming this. Its new TVs will allow users to view, choose, buy and trade Non-Fungible Tokens.

Samsung: TVs for NFTs and digital artwork

Samsung’s new TVs, by integrating the NFT platform, offer the possibility for users to access the world of digital artworks, also referred to as ‘Crypto Art’.

Crypto Art is, in essence, the use of blockchain-based tools to support artists and works of art. NFTs are collectible, non-fungible tokens, i.e. assets that link the digital artwork that is registered on special public decentralized repositories, so that anyone can verify their ownership.

In addition, NFTs can be freely traded, which is why NFT trading on marketplaces was born, allowing buyers to be sure that they are the only owners and that they own the original work, while artists can earn money by selling directly to the collector.

In this respect, many artists are choosing the revolutionary new Crypto Art formula to show their digital artworks in a decentralized way.

In addition to the explosive market recorded by artists themselves this year, led by the sensational $69m sale of Beeple’s NFT artwork, there are also the NFT collectors’ rankings reported by each marketplace.

Last October, on SuperRare, the top NFT collector that month was, for example, Starrynight with 36 NFTs and a total spending of $15 million. On SuperRare’s all-time list, the top NFT collector was Colborn, with 174 NFTs and a total spending of $980,096.

Crypto Art: digital art exhibitions go on television

With the new NFT Platform embedded in Samsung’s new 2022 TV models (MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame), digital art exhibitions will be available on television.

This is something that was experienced live in mid-November 2021 during Lugano NFT Week: a week of exhibitions, events and workshops focusing precisely on the world of Crypto Art and Non Fungible Tokens.

At that event, NFT ART, NFT gaming, NFTs and metaverses and even play-to-earn NFTs were at the centre of the scene, along with exhibitions such as “The Future is Unwritten”, which proposed works chosen from among the hundreds that make up the Poseidon NFT Fund collection, one of the largest and most conspicuous in Europe.
