Zilliqa Scilla becomes opensource

After postponing the launch of the mainnet until 2019, Zilliqa streamed a Q&A with its users last night, in order to update them on the developments of the project.

The Zilliqa team is preparing some updates so they can be perfectly ready for their next move.

Among the various novelties, the decision to make Scilla opensource stands out Scilla is the inextricably safe programming language used for smart contracts supported by blockchains.

The aim is to allow the widest possible spread thanks to the creation of more contracts and accelerating their development. On Github, you can freely access the project code.

The novelties do not concern only Scilla, but the whole project. Worth mentioning is also the unification of the two PoW systems in one, as provided for by the whitepaper.

For an improvement of the protocol functionality: a schedule and a list of the activities to be carried out have been established, which includes the performance of periodic audits, the integration of the wallets, the preparation of the token swap and the development of better programming tools.

In addition, a joint venture will be developed with Infoteria, a Japanese company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, to offer blockchain services on the Asteria platform, aimed primarily at business activities and with over 6,500 companies already associated.

This will allow a business-oriented development of Zilliqa and will mature the whole system in view of the final launch in the first quarter of 2019.
