What happened to Didi Taihuttu? Interview with the Bitcoin Family

Didi Taihuttu is one of the member of the so-called Bitcoin Family who decided to sell everything and live solely on cryptocurrencies.

Last year, in fact, they announced on Facebook we sold everything to live our dream”.

Cryptonomist had the chance to interview Didi Taihuttu to talk about bitcoin, their blog and how they want to change the world.

What’s your approximate income and how do you earn bitcoin?

I don’t know our exact income and not really care. Because of selling our house etc we don’t have many cost. We earn because of trading, speaking, writing, advising people in crypto etc… We share a lot of our profit with charities and live day by day.

How do you protect yourself and your family in moments of high volatility or in any case of a large market drop?

We hedge into stablecoins like USDT and Pax when we expect these drops, but we didn’t expect the 6k to 3k drop, for example, because we were too busy with supporting and educating other in crypto, hahaha.
We didn’t get into this business to become millionaires, but to support crypto in the whole and share our income with the poor. We just need monthly income too travel eat and sleep and we trust bitcoin will be much higher in the future so we will see what our investment value will be then of you are talking in USD.

So, you are the real alive proof that people can live all-in on bitcoin. Are you experiencing less difficulty to spend your BTC? Do you use fiat currencies in your daily life?

We live solely on crypto and use Wirex (and yes please use my affiliate link so we can help the poor some more) when, for example, we need to get Thai baht at an ATM.

Since we started to live on crypto it got more easy every month and more and more online and offline business start to accept crypto. It’s amazing to see how this space is evolving and it’s getting easier for us every day. People just don’t know yet where and how they can use crypto to buy things but for example Expedia accepts bitcoins for our travels. Many other amazing blockchain businesses are starting to accept crypto of course and that will increase coming years.

Do you use or believe in other cryptocurrencies?

It depends what you mean with cryptocurrencies. If you are talking about a real decentral, uncensored crypto that will be a store of value/world currency then I think bitcoin is the one.

If you are talking about cryptos that because of the blockchain are going to change a existing industry in a huge way then there are many more that I believe in. For example Momentum Token is changing the whole loyalty industry and Decent Bet is changing the whole betting industry, Money Token is changing the lending industry, Evimeria.io and Give.io changing the whole charity industry and so on.

How does your family contribute to the crypto community? Do your children use bitcoin?

We are traveling the world and exploring crypto all over the world. I speak at conferences /bars / private occasions about blockchain and crypto. We are part of about 4 documentaries about crypto made by Wall Street, Channel News Asia, Arte and Key pictures.

We trade crypto, hodl, mine and run nodes to support crypto. With “the Bitcoin family” label we try to earn and then share it with poor people in the world and teach them to accept crypto as a form of gift as well.

We have visited about 40 countries and explored crypto acceptance in all of them. We still have more than 200 hours of video about many countries we need to edit etc to make a documentary but we just don’t have the time

We don’t have many followers yet because sharing a minimalistic crypto lifestyle as a family is not as sexy as telling people how to trade and become a millionaire, hahahaha.

Many youtubers have 50k followers and up and if you check our channels we are way below that. We did decide to start and make daily vlogs a week ago as you can see in our youtube channel to show people how we really live instead of a weekly update with only the beautiful parts of that week.
