Hester Peirce, SEC: “Lack of regulation has favoured crypto”

Hester Peirce, a member of the SEC American committee, recently explained that the lack of regulation has probably favoured the crypto industry.

During a speech at the University of Missouri School of Law, Peirce, also known as Crypto Mom, said that the crypto industry benefited from the lack of regulation.

“We might be able to draw clearer lines once we see more blockchain projects mature. However, for now, delay in drawing clear lines may actually allow more freedom for the technology to come into its own”.

Peirce also commented on the slow pace of the crypto regulation process, due to the fact that regulators certainly prefer to take their time and not get to a hasty regulation that could harm the industry. Only this way we can enable innovation on this new frontier to proceed without compromising the objectives of our securities laws — protecting investors, facilitating capital formation, and ensuring fair, orderly, and efficient markets”.
