Craig Wright, Satoshi Nakamoto at CFTC: “Bitcoin is a project of the Australian government”

Craig Wright reiterated that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, inventor of Bitcoin in a document sent to the US federal CFTC, the Commodity and Future Trade Commission.

The Australian entrepreneur, responding to a request for public information issued by the CFTC about the operation of the blockchain of Ethereum, did not hesitate to say that he worked at Bitcoin under the name of Satoshi Nakamoto as part of an Australian national program carried out by AusIndustry, the federal agency of Canberra.

Craig Wright Satoshi Nakamoto CFTC

Wright writes:

“My name is Dr Craig Wright and under the pseudonym of Satoshi Nakamoto I completed a project that I started in 1997 and that was signed with the Australian government, partly in the register of AusIndustry projects, with the department of innovation under the name of BlackNet”.

In this statement, the self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin not only confirms that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, but even makes BTC appear as part of a project involving the Australian Federal Government.

AusIndustry was at that time a subsidiary of the Australian Department of Industry which, and since 1994 was responsible for the development of technological and business innovation in Australia.

Subsequently, this initiative became part of the broader business.gov.au, a portal for information and general assistance to business activities, which still constitutes a component of the business today.

If the words of the scientist were to be taken as valid, we would have an involvement of the Canberra government in the creation of Bitcoin. Moreover, it is not entirely clear why an Australian citizen, legitimately involved in a government project or with government support, should use a pseudonym to sign his creations, even if this would explain the difficulties that he had with the federal police of the country.

Craig Wright says that Bitcoin’s blockchain was created as a tool to prevent fraud in payment systems and therefore declares himself available for a personal hearing at the CFTC board.

His document goes on to say that the implementation of the DLT technology would not limit the front-end activities of the market of exchange of goods or futures, but would make more secure and efficient all the back office operations, and that the management of the goods and the relative rights could be managed through issues of ICO.
