Shapeshift has released the documentary Down the Rabbit Hole

Shapeshift announced a few minutes ago the release of a crypto-themed documentary called Down the Rabbit Hole.

In six episodes the main characters explain what cryptocurrencies mean to them and how these are having an impact on their work, ambitions and everyday life.

The six people interviewed come from different social and work groups, from entrepreneurs to artists, but they all share one thing in common, as Shapeshift’s press release explains:

“their belief in the future is not one that is provided by centralized services, but by technologies which are powered by people”

Interviewees include Zcash creator Zooko Wilcox, activist Nyla Rodgers, entrepreneur Diego Gutiérrez Zaldívar, venture capitalist Meltem Demirors, musician Tatiana Moroz and Shapeshift CEO Erik Voorhees.

Shapeshift explains the decision of releasing the documentary Down the Rabbit Hole:

“As this crypto winter hits us hard, it’s important to remember why we are here in the first place”.

The crypto market is certainly not going through a prosperous period, and especially Shapeshift would seem to be more and more in trouble given all the requests for information from the authorities about the customers of the exchange.

According to a report published at the end of January, Shapeshift received 44 requests from the Swiss regulator in the third quarter of 2018, an increase of 175% compared to the requests received in the first two quarters of the same year.
