Exploring blockchain technology with IOHKH virtual reality

Charles Hoskinson, CEO of IOHK, the company that drives the evolution of Cardano, announced that will soon present a virtual reality system to explore the blockchain, with 3D viewers, which will allow visiting Bitcoin’s structure in a realistic way for educational purposes.

IOHK will use the same interface used by “The Symphony of Blockchain“, which is limited to a graphical presentation with only two dimensions. In this case, however, the use of VR displays will allow to really get inside the structure of the blockchain.

Speaking of his latest creation Hoskinson points out: “IOHK has made a commitment to both education and art and this new way of representing data is the perfect combination of both.

Aesthetically it is very beautiful and also functional. In our hopes, it will allow the blockchain to be truly understood by a completely new audience.

The Symphony of Blockchain had already been praised both scientifically and artistically for its achievement. The representation was already done in a three-dimensional way, with the recent blocks closer to the spectator.

Clearly, however, there was no possibility to navigate in 3D within the structure.

There are other educational and artistic projects that use the blockchain structure, but no one has yet reached this level of precision.

By the way, it is not the only educational project carried out by the IOHK team.

Hoskinson has in fact reached agreements with India and Ethiopia for teaching a large number of students the purely functional Haskell programming language, on which Cardano’s blockchain is based.

A way to spread knowledge of blockchain technology in poor countries, thus providing the necessary tools for its use in everyday implementations.
