Coinbase: the Bundle service is not working anymore

The Coinbase Bundle service of the exchange is not working anymore. As can be read on the support website, purchases through Coinbase Bundle have been deprecated and all assets purchased within the packages offered by the service have been redistributed to the wallets of the individual assets.

As a result, users who have purchased a Coinbase Bundle will now find the individual assets directly in the various wallets instead of the asset package. The stand-alone wallet of the Coinbase Bundle, will not be visible anymore, whereas the amount of cryptocurrencies purchased previously with the service will not change.

The service was launched almost a year ago and allowed very easy purchases of ready-made bundles containing several cryptocurrencies. These packages were in fact composed of a variable percentage selection of the cryptocurrencies available on Coinbase, allowing to buy several cryptocurrencies at once.

As of mid-April, the bundle service was no longer available and the website was barely functioning. The reasons for the decision to close the service are not known, but it is assumed that the main reason may have been the failure of the initiative.

Right now it seems unlikely that Coinbase could restore the service in the future, also in the light of some criticism received in the past that it would be a way for Coinbase to promote some cryptocurrencies over others.

It should be added, however, that some similar services offered by other companies are still active, an example are the ETPs that can be traded on the Swiss exchange SIX.
