All the latest updates of Cardano (ADA)

On August 4th there was an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Cardano (ADA), who spoke about the various future updates of the blockchain.

Hoskinson explained that during the next month there will be many updates for Cardano, especially for Daedalus, the Cardano wallet, revealing that they have fixed over 100 bugs and that it took 2 and a half months of work to do so.

As for the Ouroboros protocol, Hoskinson promises that it will arrive this month or at the latest next month, moving from the classic version to the Ouroboros BFT version that will improve the protocol using the PoS (Proof-of-Stake) consensus algorithm.

Then in September, the next hackathon of Cardano will be held in Wyoming. This competition involves collaboration with the University of the country and there will be several speakers including Jesse Powell of Kraken, Anthony Pompliano and the CEO of Cardano himself, who also mentions that an ebook on smart contracts has just come out.

The CEO also mentioned the updates of ghcjs/ghcjs and WebAssembly, which will allow developers to work through the browser, reiterating that it will be the developer who will choose the right language to implement for their projects and smart contracts.

During this AMA there was also talk of a project for interoperability with the Ethereum blockchain, with regard to accounts, which could use Plutus to invoke contracts. But not much has yet been revealed about it.

Some Cardano developers are also working on sidechains and oracles, ideas that emerged as a result of the various hackathons that have taken place in recent months in Ethiopia, Mongolia and Israel, which led to the gathering of several young people interested in the ADA blockchain.

Speaking of IoT (Internet of Things), Hoskinson explained his vision: it doesn’t make sense to record all the data of the various devices on blockchain, not least because they would flood any chain.

“I’m very pessimistic about IoT and blockchain for the moment, at least the way I’ve read about some of these projects”.

Finally, Charles also commented on Justin Sun and the lunch with Warren Buffett, criticising it as a marketing stunt with no real focus on the purpose.
