Yesterday, Emurgo, official partner of Cardano and the ADA cryptocurrency, announced its collaboration with the Korea Blockchain Contents Association (KBCCA), a digital content association, and the Korea Mobile Game Association (KMGA), a gaming association.
These partnerships are intended to ensure global adoption of Cardano and the ADA cryptocurrency in order to help it acquire greater value on the market and in the blockchain landscape.
Cardano and Emurgo will thus seek to focus on the development of digital content and within the gaming sector, as stated by Emurgo’s CEO, Ken Kodama:
“EMURGO is pleased to collaborate with KBCCA & KMGA to foster the continued development of blockchain-based content & mobile gaming industries. With digital content & mobile gaming rising in popularity year after year, there is a huge untapped potential to implement blockchain-based solutions into these lucrative industries”.
If we look at the numbers of the sector, we see that South Korea is the fourth-largest mobile gaming market in the world with the highest rate of smartphones per person: we are talking about an average of 9 out of 10 and between 21 and 35 years of age. A potentially very interesting target also for crypto and blockchain.
It’s no coincidence that even an entertainment giant like Ubisoft is working on a game based on the Ethereum blockchain, and there are also some games already launched in this area, particularly on the EOS blockchain.
One of the motivations for the mass adoption that may take place in the future, as a result of the use of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, could come from the gaming sector and bring together the young people in particular.
