Class action against Craig Wright on the way

After losing the lawsuit against Kleiman, Craig Wright may face a new class action for fraud.

English podcaster Peter McCormack, who hosts What Bitcoin Did, has revealed that he intends to launch a class action not only against Wright but also against Calvin Ayre and Jimmy Nguyen for claiming that Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto.

Judge Bruce Reinhart recently proved Ira Kleiman right in the case concerning the so-called Faketoshi, forcing Craig Wright to pay him half of the bitcoins (BTC) mined.

Craig Wright: new troubles with the law

Satoshi disappeared in 2011, but in the meantime he/she/they had mined 1.1 million BTC, placing it in the so-called “Tulip Trust“. This trust was managed by Satoshi Nakamoto, Dave Kleiman and Craig Wright.

Dave Kleiman died in 2013, and once Satoshi disappeared and Kleiman died, Wright was supposed to recover the 1.1 million BTC targeted by Satoshi.

Dave Kleiman’s brother, Ira, however, sued Craig Wright, demanding 50% of those bitcoins. Wright tried to defend himself by claiming to be actually Satoshi Nakamoto, the real owner of the BTC of the Tulip Trust.

However, Wright would have lied and falsified all the documents, hindering the work of the court that never believed him.

The consequence is that Wright will have to pay Kleiman’s brother half of the bitcoins of the Tulip Trust, equal to more than 5 billion dollars. The whole industry has seen this as a clear victory for justice and someone wants to go even further.

Wright launched Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) stating that the cryptocurrency reflects Satoshi’s vision (hence the name), even though clearly he is not Satoshi. This, according to Peter McCormack, has influenced many people’s decisions.

Many members of the crypto community have welcomed McCormack’s proposal, while others believe it’s just a waste of time and would give Craig Wright additional media attention.
