Today Binance announced the purchase of DAppReview, a platform for information and analysis focusing on decentralised applications.
The goal is to support the development of the platform to further expand the dApp ecosystem and encourage greater adoption of blockchain-based innovations.
DAppReview provides data analysis, user insights and information on over 3,900 dApps based on 13 public blockchains.
It was founded in February 2018, and today boasts over 300,000 active users monthly from 120 countries. In the first quarter of 2020, it will release a new suite of products.
The site’s contribution to the dApp ecosystem is widely recognised, thanks to accurate data, up-to-date information and market analysis. DAppReview also offers services to blockchain projects, such as fundraising, product development, marketing and promotion.
TRON founder Justin Sun said:

To make the service more enticing, Vincent and his team frequently share industry insights based off their deep understanding of the overall ecosystem and detailed data analysis, offering analytical guidance on latest industry trends”.
Benny Giang, co-founder of Dapper Labs, the company that created CryptoKitties, added:
“Dapp.Review has been a staple for the blockchain gaming space since the beginning. They have been instrumental in connecting the Chinese community with the Western community. The content that DappReview puts out explaining how blockchain games work is extremely valuable and representational of the deep interest that Asia has with dapps. We are excited to hear about the acquisition and we hope to continue our productive collaboration with DappReview and Binance”.
After the acquisition, the platform will retain its independence, while Binance will offer support in non-technical areas, including marketing and business development.
DAppReview’s founder and CEO, Vincent Niu, reveals that the mission is to build a vibrant dApp ecosystem and promote mass adoption of the blockchain. He further declared:
“Binance’s acquisition will empower DappReview with more resources to accelerate our business growth. Our next step is to partner with more blockchain protocols and developers on dapp data integration, and push for dapps adoption on a greater scale”.
According to Binance’s CFO, Wei Zhou, dApps are still missing some important components for mass adoption, though this acquisition would mark a significant step forward for this emerging ecosystem.
He added:
“The DappReview team has shown its commitment to dapps and strong execution in building a leading global dapps platform within a year of establishment. Binance and DappReview share a mutual goal of driving blockchain applications”.
