TravelbyBit in partnership with Binance Charity for blockchain donations

TravelbyBit has announced a new partnership with Binance Charity to launch a blockchain donation program called the Crypto Donation Matching Program.

TravelbyBit is a global travel booking platform and through this new program will give its customers the opportunity to make a donation to help improve the lives of the “bottom billion” around the world.

The choice of a partnership with Binance Charity is driven by its activity to help people out of poverty, particularly through the Binance Lunch for Children project. In fact, thanks to the new program, those who book flights or hotels on TravelbyBit will be able to make a donation to the Binance Lunch for Children project, which will be doubled by TravelbyBit during the Christmas period.

The minimum donation amount will be $1, and it will be possible to use bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Binance Coin (BNB).

The aim of the Binance Lunch for Children project is to provide healthy food for schoolchildren living in Africa. Since January 2019, the project has already raised over $100,000 in cryptocurrencies and helped 5,441 children in 10 schools in Uganda.

TravelbyBit CEO Caleb Yeoh said

“Permissionless cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin provide anyone with the basic right to transact freely. TravelbyBit is one of the first online travel booking platforms that provides travellers with cryptocurrency payment options, introducing a solid use case for the digital asset. By partnering with Binance Charity, we hope to encourage travellers to use cryptocurrencies for social good when they book their trips during the Christmas holidays. In this season of giving, we will match each donation at a 1:1 ratio to maximize the social impact”.

Binance Charity’s Head, Helen Hai, added

“We are very pleased to have TravelbyBit’s support to the vulnerable people via our blockchain-based charity solution. Donations through the platform will be ensured with full transparency, accountability and direct reach to end recipients. Technology should work for people; the collaboration with TravelbyBit is demonstrating the industry’s effort to use technology to shape a future that works for all of us by putting people first and empowering them”.

The use of blockchain-based systems for charitable donations allows them to be managed in a transparent and verifiable manner, making them also more traceable and secure.

For example, in the case of Binance Charity, this makes it possible to verify that 100% of donations are distributed to beneficiaries, thus ensuring that all their funds are actually used for charitable purposes. To date, Binance Charity has already helped over 96,000 final beneficiaries.
