Pornhub has officially announced that it has added Tether dollar (USDT) to its payment methods.
The official post on the website states that, after PayPal’s choice two months ago to block payments to the well-known adult video platform, a decision was made to look for new payment options with a view to making payments easier.
It is, therefore, no coincidence that they chose to add Tether dollar to their payment options. In fact, Pornhub explains that USDT is a cryptocurrency anchored to the US dollar, which means that a USDT token is worth as much as a US dollar. In addition, USDT transactions can be executed from anywhere in the world in seconds, without commission.
The token used is the one on TRON’s blockchain, with which Pornhub has partnered, and the recommended wallet for making USDT payments is TRONlink.
It should be remembered that USDT is a stablecoin token available in various formats on several blockchains, namely ERC20 on Ethereum’s blockchain and TRC20 on TRON’s blockchain, among others.
Obviously, in order to make payments in USDT on Pornhub, it is first necessary to get USDT tokens in TRC20 format.
The use of stablecoins, especially those pegged to the value of the US dollar, as an alternative to fiat currencies to make online payments could grow a lot in the future, especially in those sectors or areas where fiat transactions can be problematic.
