Today Justin Sun announced that all Fcoin users who register on Poloniex will be able to request 1,000 BTT as a gift.
“The news of FCoin overwhelmed me with grief. ZhangJian is my close friend. I can relate to the hardships he has gone through creating his business, and I feel extremely sorry for the users’ losses. Life is sometimes ruthless while the crypto world is full of love”.
The founder of TRON refers to the news related to the loss of over $70 million of BTC from the FCoin exchange.
It was the exchange itself that officially revealed that it had suffered these losses and was no longer able to repay its users the lost bitcoins, worth more than $70 million.
It was the CEO, Zhang Jian, who revealed that the amount of lost bitcoins is estimated between 7,000 and 13,000 BTC.
The cause of the loss would be due to financial difficulties and not to a hacker attack. FCoin was launched in 2018 and in 2 years would have lost a significant part of its capital.
Zhang Jian promised to reimburse users thanks to the alleged profits of a new project that should start soon, but to date, the only certainty is that, for now, users will be left empty-handed.
The 1,000 BTT tokens that will be given to users who register on Poloniex are actually worth just over half a dollar, so Sun’s initiative is in no way conclusive.
On that point Sun himself admits:
“Despite the small amount, this is our token of gesture to recover the loss for users of the crypto world!”
It is worth remembering that some time ago the Poloniex exchange has signed a partnership with TRON and that BitTorrent was purchased by the TRON Foundation some time ago.
For this reason, Justin Sun was able to convince Poloniex to give 1,000 BTT tokens (BitTorrent) to all former FCoin users who will register on the exchange.
Justin Sun also announced today that Steemit, the blockchain-based social network, has joined TRON through a strategic partnership with the TRON Foundation.
