Forbes publishes the list of crypto billionaires

Among the 2,095 names on the list of billionaires published by Forbes, there are four that belong to the crypto sector.

These four crypto billionaires hold together an estimated 8.7 billion dollars in assets, while the absolute first on the list, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, alone holds 113 billion dollars.

The richest crypto entrepreneur turns out to be the co-founder of Bitmain Micree Zhan, who ranks 616th overall with assets worth 3.2 billion.

The other co-founder of Bitmain, Jihan Wu, is further behind, in 1,196th place with 1.8 billion.

In second place in the crypto sector, there is Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen, who with his 2.6 billion is in 804th place.

The fourth is Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, who ranks 1,990th with an estimated $1 billion in assets.

Two other well-known figures from the crypto world, the founder of ConsenSys, Joseph Lubin, and the CEO of Binance, Changpeng CZ Zhao, had also entered the list of billionaires in previous years, but this year they are no longer present.

It is worth noting that these lists are published at the beginning of the year with data largely referring to the previous year, so in the 2018 list many assets were estimated using data from late 2017 or early 2018, in the midst of the last big cryptocurrency bubble.

CZ, however, has recently revealed that his net worth is $2.5 billion.

Although the crypto sector is to all intents and purposes underrepresented, holding positions far down in the list, the same cannot be said for other technological or financial sectors that are somehow involved with cryptocurrencies.

In fact, besides the dominance of Jeff Bezos, who is one of the main protagonists in the world of technological evolution linked to the Internet, Bill Gates, another leading figure in the world of technology, is in second place.

In third and fourth position there are instead two exponents of more traditional sectors, such as Bernard Arnault and Warren Buffett, but already in fifth position, there is another great protagonist of the technological revolution, Larry Ellison of Oracle.

In addition, in the top ten, there is also Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook, seventh with 54.7 billion dollars, who can also be considered in part a protagonist of the crypto sector, since he is the main promoter of the Libra project.

Other great protagonists of the current technological revolution are Steve Ballmer from Microsoft, eleventh, Larry Page and Sergey Brin from Google, thirteenth and fourteenth, Michael Bloomberg, sixteenth, Jack Ma from Alibaba, seventeenth, and Ma Huateng from Tencent, twentieth.

Even Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, Mackenzie Bezos, ranks 22nd overall thanks to Amazon’s shares in the divorce.

As such, the technology sector is very well represented in this list, since it is the most successful one compared to all the others.

In the light of these considerations, it is possible to imagine that in the future the players belonging to the crypto sector that will join this exclusive list might be even more.
