TRON and Waves for blockchain interoperability

Yesterday, the TRON Foundation announced a partnership with Waves to improve interoperability between their two blockchains.

As can be learned from the post, this technological progress has been achieved by using a third blockchain, namely Gravity, which will connect the two different programming languages, Ride and Solidity, and will allow users to access the two platforms without problems.

One of the first projects that will be launched will be in the field of decentralized finance (DeFi), although there are not many details yet. It will probably be a stablecoin using both TRX tokens and Waves tokens to create a new asset, regardless of the source blockchain, since, as described, that of Gravity will be used.

The other projects that have been announced as interoperable on both blockchains are the following:

  • All TRC-20 tokens – TRC-10 tokens are excluded – will be available on the Waves blockchain thanks to a gateway, Gravity Swap, and will be automatically listed on Waves’s decentralized exchange;
  • As a result, all tokens on Waves will be automatically listed on TRON’s decentralized exchanges such as TronTrade and Poloniex;
  • All dApps (decentralized applications) will be able to use Gravity services such as oracles;
  • New cross-chain dApps will be developed to enhance their operation and be used by all users of these two blockchains.

Not only Waves: the novelties for TRON

Overall, it is possible to see how the launch of TRON 4.0 has brought many new features to Justin Sun‘s blockchain, all of which aimed to enhance a system that is used by millions of users and with many dApps in different sectors.

The criticism that the CEO of TRON, Justin Sun, receives doesn’t appear to be able to stop this development.

Certainly, the interoperability between blockchains is a fundamental aspect to facilitate the interaction of different users with dApps regardless of where they are, although in this case a blockchain has been chosen that is not used by many.
