How technology is at the eco-friendly sector service

When it comes to using blockchain technology to reduce environmental impact or to serve sustainable industry, it is inevitable to think ironically about it.

In fact, It is a matter of fact that the entire premise of digital asset mining works by consuming high energy intensity and that the process revolves around the deliberate expenditure of processing power.

But then how can blockchain today be one of the Industry 4.0 technologies friends of the environment?

Interesting is the response published in the Building Block (chain) for a Better Planet by the World Economic Forum and PWC, which sees blockchain as an opportunity:

This analysis explores the opportunity to harness blockchain to address environmental challenges, including climate change, loss of biosphere integrity and water scarcity. Potential and emerging use-cases and game-changing solutions are explored. Emerging opportunities include the management of supply chains and finite resources, enabling the financing of environmental solutions and incentivizing behaviour change.

In essence, blockchain is still in its elementary phase, which touches different sectors improving the culture of acting under a perspective of decentralization, disintermediation and transparency.

In the green sector, the opportunity to trace resources or raw materials becomes the crucial point for those who really want to save the planet because they will be able to control, manage and tell the truth about the final product in full transparency.

The use of a technology of the Industry 4.0 in the EarthBi project is the revolutionary green key that together with biobased and biodegradable bioplastics will be able to face the environmental threats and challenges caused by plastic pollution.

Quadrans blockchain to optimize the EarthBi bioplastic chain

The optimization of raw material supply chains in general through the use of blockchain technology is already a reality. There are many brands already established in the market that test pilot projects in collaboration with technology specialists.

    blockchain industry 4.0

As already mentioned, the blockchain infrastructure that follows the EarthBi project is the Quadrans platform, in order to manage information by eliminating any sources of error and guaranteeing social and ecological standards on bioplastics.

This is a real green blockchain revolution that associates the production of an eco-sustainable emerging material with a technology derived from an Ethereum fork and therefore decentralized.

In fact, in this specific case, it is a matter of creating smart contracts that digitally certify EarthBi bioplastics in a simple, transparent and clear way.

With this association, EarthBi contributes to spreading, both physically and digitally, through ERA token, the environmentally friendly material (bioplastic bio well-rounded) with the technology of the Industry 4.0.
