Anthony Pompliano, founder and partner of Morgan Creek Digital Assets, following the news that Kroger has banned the use of VISA cards in more than 250 stores due to high commissions, has published a tweet proposing to the retail giant the evaluation of Bitcoin and Lightning Network payments.

After the Lightning Network Torch (now in the hands of Iran) has passed from Bitcoin Venezuela and Lightning Pizza, Pompliano proposes the use of LN to one of the most important retailers in the US, thus challenging also the VISA circuit.

Pompliano has warned his followers of his intention to speak with Kroger in order to propose Bitcoin’s Lightning Network.

“Grocery store @kroger is stopping acceptance of @Visa in over 250 stores because of network fees. Who knows someone on the leadership team there? The Morgan Creek Digital team will fly to meet them and get them hooked up with the Lightning Network nationwide”.

At a later stage, Pompliano confirmed that he had been able to get in touch with Kroger’s production team and thanked the Twitter social network for its efficiency.

And here’s the final result:

“Just finished up first call with someone on Kroger Digital team. World-class, forward thinking crew. Looks like things are progressing. Stay tuned”.

The crypto community wasted no time on Twitter and immediately congratulated Pompliano.

The exuberance and courage make Pompliano the leading promoter for the adoption of crypto at mainstream levels, encouraging the implementation of Lightning Network as opposed to the use of the most used circuit in the world such as VISA.
