ICONIUM, an Italian company founded in 2018 that invests in the development of blockchain, has inaugurated in Milan the first Blockchain District in Italy thanks to a partnership with Crédit Agricole.

The project was presented and promoted by Le Village by CA Milan, the first innovation hub of Crédit Agricole in Italy, and ICONIUM Blockchain Ventures, the first Italian fintech company dedicated to the launch, development, and participation in projects related to cryptocurrencies.

The first Italian Village of Crédit Agricole and 30th in the international network developed by the banking Group in France and Europe, Le Village by CA Milan aims to select, support and promote startups that operate mainly in the food, fashion, furniture but also fintech, future mobility and pharmaceutical sectors.

With the relocation of its team to the Milan office of Le Village, ICONIUM could play the role of centre of gravity for all the realities that intend to grow within the blockchain industry, using various services such as mentoring and training programs.

“We are enthusiastic about this partnership with ICONIUM – comments Gabriella Scapicchio, Mayor of Le Village by Crédit Agricole Milan – as blockchain technology has cross-sectional applications in all our key areas of interest. Through this collaboration we will be able to share and implement an always updated and high-profile schedule of events and activities, thus making a contribution to the innovation ecosystem.

“The blockchain industry represents an extraordinary opportunity for the development of our country’s economy: for this reason, it is necessary to create a network of entrepreneurs and professionals specialised in this field”, emphasizes Fabio Pezzotti, CEO of ICONIUM Blockchain Ventures

“With this partnership, we fully adhere to the ‘Collaborate to innovate’ concept on which the entire hub is based. Joining forces with Le Village allows us to create a reference point in Italy, currently absent, for companies and startups who want to invest in Blockchain and develop this technology that has enormous potential in terms of innovation and employment, supporting young companies with high potential for innovation and growth.
