Angelo Deiana, Confassociazioni: “I don’t believe in crypto but Libra is interesting”

Today at the ImpactHUB in Bari there was the event “Blockchain: Opportunities for PA, Industry and Finance”, promoted by the association Italia4blockchain and Confassociazioni with the participation of President Angelo Deiana who took the floor to speak also about crypto.

The event, in fact, was intended to inform and illustrate the progress in the blockchain world with regard to the Public Administration in Puglia.

The event opened with Rocco Baccelliere, administrator of BYB Italia Consulting and member of the National Council of Italia4blockchain, who thanked those present at the event and without delay began to introduce the guests starting from Pietro Azzara, President of the association ITALIA4BLOCKCHAIN.

The latter thanked for the opportunity given and began to illustrate the possibilities offered by the blockchain for the improvement of the Public Administration, also explaining that the association is committed to spreading the technological knowledge at multiple levels, including courses in homomorphic cryptography.

Immediately after the word was passed to the President of Confassociazioni, Angelo Deiana, who clarified his position on crypto:

“I do not believe in cryptocurrencies, but a system like Libra, which has a backing, is interesting”.

The reason for this statement, Deiana explains, is that cryptocurrencies are too volatile and it would be impossible to use them in the traditional trading system because it would involve too many risks.

Of remarkable depth was the intervention by William Nonnis, full-stack developer, blockchain consultant and developer for the Ministry of Defense who explained the reasons why he prefers the use of a public blockchain and not “copies” like those of IBM and Hyperledger.

Pietro Lanza, general manager of Intesa (IBM group), then showed the potential offered by their solutions, citing the fact that it is precisely customers who ask for permissioned solutions to safeguard the data of their companies.
