BitTorrent has announced a new airdrop of BTT tokens for TRON (TRX) holders.
This is the ninth airdrop of the BitTorrent token, which will distribute 990,000,000 BTT tokens from 00:00 UTC on November 11th.
The BTT airdrop programme began on February 11th, 2019. At that time, the distribution ratio of the tokens was 0.11 BTT for each TRX token. By March this ratio had already fallen to 0.01 BTT for each TRX.
During the first airdrop, 10,890,000,000 BTT were distributed, corresponding to 1.1% of the total supply, while in the next seven, 990,000,000 BTT were distributed, on the 11th of each month.
This rate will be maintained until February 2020, while from March 11th, and until February 2021, 1,072,500,000 will be distributed per month, always on the 11th.
The BTT airdrop programme will end on February 11th, 2025, with the distribution of the last 1,402,500,000 tokens.
To receive BTT tokens it is sufficient to hold TRX tokens on one of the platforms that have joined the initiative, among which there are both exchanges and wallets: BTT tokens will be credited automatically.
Today, a BTT is worth less than half a thousandth of a dollar ($0.000461), and there are 212,116,500,000 in circulation out of the total 990,000,000,000, with a market capitalisation of about 97 million dollars.
This TRC-10 utility token allows content creators on BitTorrent to earn and spend digital currency without intermediaries. The BitTorrent P2P network is connected to the TRON blockchain, providing a new experience to over 100 million users.
BTT can be used for faster downloads and can be traded with TRX on a decentralised exchange.
