Even The Cryptonomist has become the victim of a scam. In fact, a fake Facebook page with the name of “The Cryptonomist” has been opened, with the identical logo, asking to send cryptocurrencies to a specific address to receive more in exchange to celebrate the two years of our magazine.
Unfortunately the fake The Cryptonomist is perpetrating this scam by commenting the posts of the articles on our official Facebook pages, both in the Italian and English version.Â
As mentioned, this is a scam: The Cryptonomist is not carrying out any such initiative. We do not organize giveaways, so whoever sends crypto will receive nothing in return, in all likelihood they will lose their money.
The managers of the official Facebook pages are removing the comments of the fake The Cryptonomist whenever they see one. The scam page has already been reported to Facebook and we are waiting for its closure.
Such scams are all too common in the cryptocurrency world. The Cryptonomist has unfortunately been affected as well. We apologize for the inconvenience which obviously wasn’t our fault.Â
