Akoin, the crypto project by rapper Akon, will digitize healthcare in Rwanda and other African countries, in collaboration with Jeev Network

Jeev is a blockchain-based healthcare platform that connects doctors directly with patients, eliminating the need for third-party providers and government interference.

Akoin is the crypto platform created by artist Akon, and this partnership is described as a natural extension of the project, which aims to improve life, social opportunities and access to funding for countries across the African continent.

It also aims to provide millions of users with a more reliable service and a better store of value than Africa’s most volatile fiat currencies.

Jeev was conceived by a surgeon and businessman, Dr Sanjeev Kaila, and is headquartered in the United States. The goal is to improve medical services for developing countries by using artificial intelligence and blockchain to directly connect patients, doctors, hospitals, laboratories and all other healthcare facilities in order to improve the quality of health services and reduce costs.

Jeev will use the Akoin token to provide medical services throughout the patient’s life cycle.

The Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) of Western Kenya has already announced some time ago that, through an agreement with Akoin, the token will be used as a primary currency between residents, workers and businesses.

The collaboration with Jeev adds another use case to this token.

According to Dr Kaila, the token and the Akoin platform are well suited to Jeev’s growth objectives.

“The Akoin token enables necessary financial and reward exchanges throughout the Jeev experience, while offering the Jeev application within the Akoin platform extends our reach beyond Rwanda into other countries throughout Africa, together improving the quality and cost of healthcare in developing countries”.

The President and co-founder of Akoin, Jon Karas, added:

“Our growing relationship with Jeev provides and scales critical healthcare services throughout Africa, which is a core priority for Akoin when we consider how to bring social impact, growth and sustainability to the continent. We are immensely proud to bring this relationship and service to broader masses together”.
