Paxful and the #BuiltWithBitcoin initiative for crypto donations

In a recent press release Paxful, one of the leading platforms for buying and selling bitcoin, announced that it will participate in the #BuiltWithBitcoin initiative and donate $5,000 in BTC together with Pencil of Promise.

As everyone will know, Paxful’s heart is linked to Africa, which is why the partnership with Pencil of Promise is a natural step, as it aims to educate less fortunate children living on that continent.

Over the years, Pencil of Promise has already built over 500 schools and brought over 100,000 students to school in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos, becoming a real point of reference in this sector.

The company, with the help of The Giving Block, has been able to accept donations in several crypto assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Zcash (ZEC), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Basic Attention Token (BAT), Chainlink (LINK), and Gemini (GUSD), receiving in the past $1 million in BTC from the Pineapple Fund.

This #BuiltWithBitcoin movement, started by Paxful herself, allows children to be educated in Africa by supporting the non-profit organizations that are spent to help in this mission.

This pursues an admirable goal, using a decentralized and transparent method such as crypto, explained the Senior Director of Learning & Evaluation at Pencil of Promise, Christopher Stanfill:

“Incorporating cryptocurrency into our typical channels of giving and seeking other ways to integrate blockchain technology to maximize our impact are key examples of how PoP prioritizes innovation”.

To date, the campaign has gathered around 13 BTC and the commitment is ongoing and strongly supported by Paxful, as pointed out by the CEO and co-founder of Paxful, Ray Youssef:

“The #BuiltWithBitcoin initiative is a testament to the power of cryptocurrency. We firmly believe that it can improve lives and make the world a better place.”

Certainly, donations made through crypto allow for transparent tracking to ensure that the funds are actually used for the actual campaigns.

Recently, donations related to the Coronavirus cure have also passed through the blockchain, with many companies involved, such as the Italian Helperbit.
