Hyperloop launches NFTs of sustainable transport on SuperRare

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT) and SuperRare are set to launch the first hyperloop Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs) representing sustainable transport works designed by the Californian company. 

These are true digital works of art featuring the developer’s new designs for HyperloopTT’s next-generation high-speed sustainable transport. 

According to reports, the first of three HyperloopTT launches will take place on 13 July at 11 AM Pacific (2 PM Eastern) with closing expected by 15 July 2021. 

The winning bidder in each auction will receive an exclusive invitation to visit HyperloopTT’s closed-to-the-public research facility to see the world’s only full-scale hyperloop test track in Toulouse, France. 

The marketplace of choice for the auction of these real project NFTs is SuperRare, where the first of three HyperloopTT artworks up for auction is already visible: “Great Lakes Hyperloop – Chicago”.

Specifically, this first NFT is a poster of Chicago, inspired by the city’s history as it looks ahead to a new era of travel. It was created in collaboration with Popular Science cover artist Tavis Coburn to commemorate the work done in the Great Lakes Mega-Region. Not coincidentally, the Great Lakes HyperloopTT project is the most advanced in the world.

NFTs and Blockchain: a key role for almost every industry

Hyperloop’s NFTs offer the opportunity to bring together art, sustainable and innovative transport projects, finance and Blockchain technology. 

Andrea La Mendola, the chief operating officer of HyperloopTT, has written an article about the fundamental role played by blockchain for almost all industries.

In the specific case of HyperloopTT, La Mendola explains how NFTs based on Blockchain technology are enabling the company to enjoy a completely new travel experience. 

And so he concludes:

NFTs continue to expand across industries. Recently, even popular video game maker Riot Games filed a trademark in the area of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) for the game League of Legends.
