Cardano SPO Column: BraveHeartStakePool [BRAVE]

This week’s guest on the Cardano SPO Column is a stake pool committed to providing the Cardano community with the ability to achieve financial ‘FREEDOM’: BraveHeartStakePool [BRAVE].

Last week’s guest was a stake pool donating 50% of the pool income to organizations dedicated to helping our planet.

This initiative is a point of reference for everything Cardano and every week or two we will invite a Stake Pool Operator (SPO) to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.

Considering that many of our readers are new to the crypto space, we will have a mix of simple and technical questions.

Cardano SPO, interview with BraveHeartStakePool [BRAVE]

Cardano SPO
Cardano SPO BraveHeartStakePool [BRAVE] focusing on FREEDOM

Hi, thanks for your time. Tell us something about yourself, where are you based and what is your background?

Hi all, Brave here from BraveHeart StakePool, born & bred in bonny Scotland. We are based just outside the city of Glasgow, west of Scotland.

I am a fully qualified, time served electrician with 10+ years of experience. I am currently employed as an electrical design engineer in the construction industry with 5+ years of experience.

I am also undertaking a university Honours degree in electrical power systems at Glasgow Caledonian University.

I am an extremely motivated and passionate person who believes in FREEDOM for all. We as a pool aim to help provide help to those in need whether it be donations made to amazing causes or just helping members of the community.

We have been working alongside two other amazing SPOs Patrick of [SHA] Stake Pool & M1EAGLE of [EAGLE] Stake Pool on the amazing Cardano Community Stake Pool explorer PoolPeek.com.

What’s the path that led you to Cardano and to become a Stake Pool Operator (SPO)?

I have been investing in the blockchain industry roughly since 2018 under another pseudonym as privacy for me like many others is extremely important given the threats that are on the internet.

In the past, I studied from afar looking at blockchains as just an investment & a way to help provide myself with financial freedom. This all changed the day I happened to stumble across Cardano, it wasn’t the famous Charles Hoskinson whiteboard video that got me interested in the beginning but the Cardano community. The fire in the hearts of the community members with the drive and determination that Cardano would not only be a successful blockchain but help provide a level playing field for those that up until recently were never given a chance.

The Charles Hoskinson white board video was the icing on the cake for me and how Charles explained how the Cardano blockchain would be different from all other blockchains with rigorous peer reviewed cryptographic research.

From that day on my motivation was to learn as much about Cardano as my brain could handle. After doing months & months of research into Cardano, this built up an extreme desire to not only be an investor but to help secure the network, help provide value to the world and be part of history in the making.

You have been operating your stake pool for quite a long time. What advice do you have for new stake pools?

BraveHeart StakePool has been operational since November 2020 & is nearly at its first full year of continued operation. It has been a long hard road with many ups and downs, but we would not change it for anything in the world. That feeling of minting our first block for the Cardano network will stay with me till the day I die.

Currently there are approximately 3000 Stake Pools on the Cardano network, many of which are fitting for a chance to prove themselves and mint that first block on the network. If I could give any advice to these or the new SPO starting Stake Pools it is to get out there in the community, communicate with like minded people, join groups, provide content, build tools for the community and just imagine the impossible.

Cardano is a young and thriving blockchain with some of the most brilliant minds that are here not to just make money but to make a difference in the world. Blockchain provides something new to this world that is just beginning to be tapped into, it is the tool that can connect the world in many amazing ways.

What excites you the most about Cardano’s future?

Personally, I am excited everyday about Cardano, it is the first thing I think of when I wake upn and the last thing I think about before I fall asleep. I sometimes even dream about it.

We are continuing to make history day in and day out, from making partnerships with governments states and on-boarding millions to providing digital identities to many people in the world who have no access to a fair market.

Cardano continues to make partnerships with projects that help connect the unconnected, in the future these people will be able to use the tools we take for granted to help better their lives and hopefully lead to financial FREEDOM.

When smart contracts are fully deployed and Basho‘s scaling & Voltaire‘s governance are implemented; the possibilities of what Cardano can achieve are only limited to what the community can imagine.

Thank you kindly for your answers. Any final thoughts? Where can people stay in touch?

I am extremely grateful & honoured to be even considered to share a bit about our back story on this amazing project and would like to thank you Patryk Karter & your team behind the SPO Column.

In an ecosystem like Cardano with so many amazing people, dare to be brave and get involved in any way possible no matter how small it may seem, remember “The smallest actions can change the world”.

Anyone that wishes to stay in touch can follow us on Twitter, Telegram, Website.

Don’t be afraid to reach out or just say hi. You can also help support our StakePool, Ticker: BRAVE & help fight for your financial FREEDOM.
