Metaverse tokens: triple-digit gains in one week

Metaverse tokens are flying, with triple-digit gains in one week. Sandbox (SAND), Decentraland (MANA), Loopring (LRC) and OVR are leading the trend.

The tokens leading the Metaverse: Sandbox, Decentraland and Loopring

Over the past week, while the crypto queen Bitcoin (BTC) has been hovering above $60,000 and, at the time of writing, hovering around $65,000, the tokens in the metaverse have been gaining momentum with 3-digit gains.

Sandbox (SAND), which was worth $1.50 at the end of October, rose 175.3% to $3.41 in just a few days and is now at $2.52.

Decentraland (MANA) also went from $1.40 at the end of October to $3.70 in a few days, with its price now remaining at $2.70 and a triple-digit jump of 172.9%

Loopring (LRC), which went from $0.55 at the end of October to $1.60 today, seeing a jump of over 169.4% in the week.

Finally, OVR is also rallying. The token of the OVRland metaverse has gained over 200% in the last month. It is currently worth about $2. This is a rise that rewards OVR, which can be considered a precursor to the metaverse.

The total crypto market dominance of these three tokens is still under 1%, with SAND and LRC each covering 0.08% and MANA 0.17%.

Metaverse and the Federico II University of Naples

The metaverse is also attracting the Federico II University in Naples, making it the first university to start experimenting with Hybrid Learning Spaces

According to Forbes Italia, with the acceleration of digitalization processes and the problem of distancing that the pandemic has brought, distance learning has become “hybrid learning”.

In this sense, the Hybrid Learning Spaces model is based on real immersive virtual classrooms that make it possible to introduce a new educational model that can be used both remotely and in person, through lessons and holographic laboratory support.

The metaverse oversees everything, bringing to this model an approach where physical and digital integrate and coexist in an unconventional way, giving rise to innovative paths with greater potential content. These are experiential immersions that can prove decisive in learning processes.

In this regard, Antonio Squeo, CIO of Hevolus Innovation said:

“New technologies, smart devices and the hybrid approach allow educational institutions to respond to the ongoing paradigm shift with an interactive and multidisciplinary experiential model capable of putting the student at the centre, involving them personally and stimulating their spirit of initiative. We are convinced that this project, developed together with Microsoft, can help the education and training sector to get closer to young people in a new way, also by providing specific skills in team collaboration techniques, which are fundamental in the world of work”.

A new dimension for all sectors

The metaverse is indeed conquering all sectors. From the crypto sector to universities for hybrid teaching, to the global giants of footwear and social networks, the new dimension that offers experiences is at the centre of the scene.

Recently, even the internationally renowned brand Nike filed an application to register the trademark “Nike, just do it”, as well as their iconic Swoosh, in the metaverse

All this just a few days after Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg’s big announcement that he wants to change the name of his company to “Meta”, creating his own metaverse
