“Crypto Art Begins”: the first NFT book by Rizzoli with 50 top artists

“CRYPTO ART – Begins” is the first Phygital book, thus standing at an intermediate point between print and Web 3. Published by Rizzoli, the book will be sold in both print and as NFT.

Over the past year, Crypto Art has swept the world of Digital Art, and not only, involving collectors, museums and auction houses, giving rise to a true digital revolution.

It was led by visionary artists who promoted this unprecedented movement with new rules, overwhelming dynamics and innovative ways of enjoying art.

“CRYPTO ART – Begins”, an idea of The NFT Magazine

“CRYPTO ART – Begins”, a project of The NFT Magazine, published by Rizzoli

This is why the book “CRYPTO ART – Begins” published by Rizzoli Italy and New York was born, based on the idea and project of The NFT Magazine, the first monthly magazine that can be read and collected on the Ethereum blockchain, born from the collaboration between ArtRights and The Cryptonomist.

The book chronicles this exciting movement through the history and works of 50 crypto artists – including HACKATAO, Refik Anadol, Kevin Abosch, Osinachi, Federico Clapis, Giant Swan, DADA.Art – who contributed to the birth and who with their NFTs – Non Fungible Tokens – are part of the present and future of this new world.

For the first time, Andrea Concas – co-founder of The NFT Magazine – theorizes and defines the “Crypto Art System” with which to transcend technological solutions, identifying its protagonists, along with the dynamics behind this revolution between communities, digital platforms and artists.

Dialogue with artists and their works leads to the emergence of visions, aspirations, complexities, as well as the limits of a world that is all in flux and yet to be discovered.

Telling the story for The NFT Magazine is curator Eleonora Brizi, a pioneer of the movement, who has lived side by side with the artists, in unsuspected times, through the great evolution and rise of Crypto Art, even before the disruptive descent into the market.

Along with her is the contribution of the first Crypto Art Historian Martin L. Ostachowski, who has timely reconstructed the origins of the movement.

What is the new book focusing on the beginnings of Crypto Art about?

“CRYPTO ART – Begins” is a groundbreaking book that finds its way onto the shelves of the best bookstores, bookshops and museums around the world, as well as into the metaverse, with a virtual reality exhibition of all the artists involved accessible thanks to an NFT, which every reader can redeem for free within the book.

The innovation does not stop, and for the first time a prestigious publishing project is entering the world of Web 3 to offer the possibility for collectors to purchase a special edition of the book to be collected exclusively as NFTs.

Holding the NFTs will give the right to receive a preview of the physical book in its limited edition, whose covers celebrate the best works of the 50 artists, as well as guaranteeing numerous experiences between physical and digital, resulting in one of the biggest drops in the history of Crypto Art.

The pre-sale of the NFTs – scheduled for September 19, 2022 – will take place on Nifty Gateway, one of the world’s leading Crypto Art platforms.

The book “CRYPTO ART – Begins” will be available in all bookstores in Italy from 8 November 2022, in the United States in spring 2023, and on the official website of The NFT Magazine using NFTs.

The initiative’s partners also include The Nemesis metaverse, where The NFT Magazine community can already meet and read the latest issues of the magazine.
