Donald Trump, former President of the USA, has launched his new NFT collection: “Mugshot Edition”, which refers to his indictment in August 2023. The new collectible cards can be purchased using a credit card or in Wrapped Ether (wETH).

Donald Trump, former President of the USA, has announced his new NFT collection: “Mugshot Edition”, focused on the theme of his ongoing criminal charges. 

By going to the official website, it is stated that users can purchase the new collectible digital cards in Non-Fungible Token format at a price of $99. These Trump NFTs can be purchased using a credit card or in crypto, specifically Wrapped Ether (wETH), and they are not transferable until December 31, 2024.

In addition, it seems that for this edition, some cards will be even unique (the only ones in the world), while others could be hand-signed by President Donald J. Trump. These rare cards will be randomly assigned.

Another association that Trump makes through his NFT cards is his potential election next year as the 47th President of the USA.

In this regard, Trump offers rewards to users who purchase 47 or more collectible cards (in a single transaction), such as a piece of the President’s actual outfit from his famous mugshot on a physical and signed card, and a dinner at Mar-a-Lago with the President.

Trump has been indicted by state and federal authorities on charges of commercial fraud and attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential elections, for a total of 91 criminal charges. 

Despite this, since in the USA the Constitution does not exclude suspects or non-convicted criminals from running for federal office, Trump is currently seeking a non-consecutive second term in the 2024 presidential elections. 

Sales of past collections

Always on the official website, it is worth mentioning the record of “sales in a few hours” that occurred for the Series 1 and Series 2 of the previous NFT drops by Donald Trump.

And indeed, last year Trump had launched his NFT collection of cards priced at $99 each, which depict him as a superhero, an astronaut, and more. The soldout happened within a few hours of the launch.

The launch had surprised the entire crypto community, as the former President of the USA had always expressed opposition to the crypto world. 

Another significant fact then came in August, when Trump appeared in the Manhattan court. At that moment, Trump’s NFT collection saw a surge in sales of 251%.

Specifically, the Trump NFT collection consists of 45,000 digital cards and had reached a turnover of $3.53 million up to that point. Within a week of his lawsuit, sales had literally skyrocketed. To give some numbers, NFT card #3162 saw its price rise to over $2,500.
