Coinbase ora promuove anche la regolamentazione crypto in UK

It’s official: the lobby created by Coinbase to promote favorable crypto regulation extends its operations to the UK as well.

Coinbase itself declared it with a statement published last Friday.

Coinbase: The expansion of crypto regulation in UK

Great Britain is absolutely one of the single largest national crypto markets in Europe.

Moreover, while the countries of the European Union have already adopted specific regulations for the crypto markets, the MiCA, Great Britain is still far from doing so.

There have been attempts to regulate cryptocurrencies in the UK, but they have not yielded particularly interesting results.

For this reason, there is still a lot of work to be done on this matter, and therefore there is also ample room for maneuver.

Coinbase some time ago started a campaign to promote favorable crypto regulation in the USA, and this campaign, called Stand with Crypto, later turned into an association that acts in all respects as a political lobby in the USA.

Now the Stand with Crypto initiative is expanding to the UK as well, in an effort to secure favorable crypto regulations in all the major jurisdictions of the West.

It should not be forgotten that the British financial market is absolutely among the most important in Europe, and the London Stock Exchange is second only to Euronext in the Old Continent.

The initiative of Coinbase on crypto regulation in the UK

In the Coinbase statement, it is said that Stand with Crypto unites crypto supporters globally, to promote sensible crypto innovation and policy.

In the United States the movement has reached over 700,000 memberships, while the United Kingdom is the second largest market for Coinbase after the US, with over 6 million cryptocurrency holders.

Stand with Crypto is focused on mobilizing the crypto community to engage directly in the legislative process, and in the UK it will shine a spotlight on web3 entrepreneurs who are building their businesses on blockchain.

Coinbase states that politicians want to better understand the opportunities offered by this new technology, and it is up to the crypto industry to better explain its utility and social benefits.

The event in London

At the beginning of last week, Stand with Crypto held its launch event in London, held at the UK Parliament, and hosted by the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and current member of Coinbase’s Global Advisory Council, George Osborne.

The event saw, among others, the presence of a ministerial representation from the frontbench team of the Department of Business and Labor, and brought together around 100 web3 entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and media.

Coinbase states that the success of this launch event marks a crucial moment in the expansion of Stand with Crypto in the UK, and that its impact on the crypto landscape of Great Britain is destined to be profound.

In Great Britain moreover there already exists a flourishing web3 ecosystem in Manchester, so much so that in the coming months the movement will expand to other British cities as well.
