Today, on X, Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, shared some more information about the new AI-based product coming soon.
In this first post on X, Ardoino describes Tether.AI as follows:
“A completely open-source AI runtime, capable of adapting and evolving on any hardware and device, without API keys, without a central point of failure, completely modular and composable, WDK-infused to enable USDT and Bitcoin payments. Tether AI technology will enable an unstoppable peer-to-peer network of billions of AI agents.”
Therefore, the new AI-based product from the issuer company of the world’s largest stablecoin should be adaptable for any hardware and device.
Not only is it an open-source AI runtime, but the new product aims to integrate with cryptocurrency payments through Tether’s Wallet Development Kit (WDK). In this way, Tether.ai will integrate payments in Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT).
Another significant peculiarity is that Tether.ai technology will enable an unstoppable peer-to-peer network of billions of AI agents.
Tether AI: the launch forecast should be Q3 2025
In another post on X, Ardoino described Tether AI’s new technology and its key objective as follows:
“Tether AI has a key objective: to be the ideal technological foundation to achieve the vision of AI described in Asimov’s science fiction books. AI will become, in the coming decades, part of the very fabric of the universe. Our technology will be open source, transparent, scalable, and capable of adapting and evolving on every device regardless of the hardware.”
Not only that, when asked about when it will be possible to test Tether’s new AI product, Ardoino emphasized that they are working on an SDK to be launched in the third quarter of 2025.
In that same period, the CEO of Tether plans to launch also the first consumer apps.
The announcement of the debut and the active website
The Tether.ai platform had already been announced last December 2024, as that innovation which reflects the ambitious diversification strategy led by Ardoino.
In fact, at that moment, Ardoino stated that he had received the draft of the website, with the goal of completing it by Q1 2025.
Not only that, at that time, the company had also already expanded its scope, investing in sectors such as energy, payments, telecommunications, and Artificial Intelligence.
Regarding AI, Tether invested in September 2023, an undisclosed amount in the German data center operator Northern Data. Not only that, two months later, Tether increased Northern Data’s debt financing to 610 million dollars, in addition to other initiatives.
