London is set to host the UK’s first public sculpture dedicated to the rapidly growing cryptocurrency ecosystem “Crypto Connection”, commissioned by us at Eidoo as part of our marketing campaign.

Created by contemporary artist Federico Clapis, the three-meter bronze statue will pose questions and explore the future of global financing and the impact this is posed to have.

We commissioned Clapis to curate this piece on show at London’s Observation Point, a central area next to the river Thames well known for hosting high profile art events. The sculpture will be unveiled on June 15th and will be in situ for ten days before moving on to other locations across the city before leaving for its permanent home in the city of Lugano, Switzerland, where we are based.

The piece encourages onlookers to think deeply about the current crypto hype in a candid and captivating way, for a wider audience outside the financial sector to digest what the future may look like operating with a new kind of digital currency and value.

“Crypto Connection has been deemed one of the most ambitious guerrilla marketing projects to date, which perfectly reflects the dichotomy of cryptocurrency itself: a seemly fleeting trend, yet built to endure.

Throughout the event, we will be pleased also to present Wallem, a Pokemon Go style game for the crypto world where users can walk around a city collecting crypto tokens. An innovative mix of augmented reality, users will be battling to steal tokens from each other in an interactive, single or multiplayer game that is set to become the trending game for 2018.

The anticipated game will launch with Lugano as its founding city, from where the game will be expanded worldwide.

The guest list comprises an eclectic mix of business, finance and technology sector founders, influencers and press, art critics and important names in the crypto space, offering a great networking opportunity for professionals in very different sectors. The public is also warmly invited to attend the opening event, with organizers expecting a good turnout due to the controversial nature of the topic addressed.

For many, cryptocurrency is a concept which lives up to its name – too cryptic to understand, too current to ignore.

However, its fast-growing popularity and increased controversy are propelling the world to think deeply about what the future of finance holds.

The three-meter bronze statue will explore our faith in the value and the future.

Eidoo Director Thomas Bertani says: “We’re thrilled to be hosting the first crypto sculpture the UK has seen, right in the creative hub of London. With the crypto space developing fast and reaching those outside of the sector, we wanted to explore a way to communicate to a wider public. Surely the only way to translate to the mainstream the importance of a world-changing technology in a tangible way is through the ingenuity of art? We have immensely enjoyed working with Federico Clapis who has managed to capture our intention through this awe-inspiring piece. We’re delighted to warmly invite all who are interested in the event in June.”
