Coinbase gift cards, a new addition to the exchange

Coinbase gift cards, a new service available in some countries of the European Union and Australia: those who hold cryptocurrencies on the exchange are able to spend their tokens instantly thanks to electronic gift cards.

A new service has already been launched in some countries and it allows Coinbase users to purchase gift cards with cryptocurrencies.

The US exchange is not only committed to implementing new features for large investors but also seeks to provide common users with new tools.

All this is made possible by a collaboration with WeGift whose gift cards can be used, for example, to make purchases on the websites of Nike, Uber, Google Play, Ticketmaster, Zalando and many others.

Coinbase will not charge any commission on gift card purchases, unlike it does on withdrawals for example, but will apply bonuses with undefined electronic gifts.

The service is already active in the UK, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia, and in the coming months, the company promises to expand the number of resellers and markets where it will be available.

Thanks to gift cards it will be possible to use cryptocurrencies to make “normal” purchases in fiat currency even on websites that do not accept digital money but do accept WeGift gift cards.

The service is active at the URL wegift.io/coinbase, where enabled Coinbase users can already purchase the gift cards to be used for purchases in euros, dollars or pounds.
