This will allow about 100 million active users who currently share content on a personal basis to access the blockchain and use the content uploaded there.
By combining several factors such as one of the most popular sharing protocols in the world, a blockchain platform, a token and an autonomous economic environment, Project Tron Atlas wants to launch a new type of economy without borders, where you can share your computing and memory resources.
BitTorrent was acquired by Tron last July, they were already working on a blockchain-based reward system and this simplified the development of the Atlas project.
From the rumours we can understand that the new project includes an incentive program in tokens for those who upload material to the platform: tokens uploaded as an incentive can be used to get priority and faster downloads.
This idea was also confirmed by Justin Sun himself, CEO of Tron, who said: “Project Atlas is the foundation for a new way of content distribution.

Users will receive tokens not only for uploading content, but also to keep it available on their computer, thus using their own memory and bandwidth that others can use to acquire content, in a way already experienced by the current BitTorrent.
The compensation system, however, will prevent users from being passive. At the same time, those who want to be able to quickly download content could buy tokens on the market, without waiting for a large media library.
