eToro, How to access to the Cannabis investment sector

The eToro investment platform has announced the reopening of the CopyPortfolio Cannabis Care scheduled for November 1st, also thanks to the fact that the UK has finally begun to allow doctors to prescribe cannabis for medical use.

Investors in Cannabis Care CopyPortfolio will gain access to 10 listed North American biotech companies specializing in medical cannabis, a rapidly growing sector in the last period: the industry in Europe is expected to reach $57 billion by 2027.

Yoni Assia, CEO and co-founder of eToro, explained: “Despite the already impressive growth, many believe that the medical marijuana market is just starting to make its mark. The industry is expected to make considerable progress in the coming years, as the legalization of medical use worldwide will spread and the number of adults living in legal markets will increase”.

The initial launch last September saw 1,000 customers using Copy Portfolio in less than two weeks. Access to the platform will be closed at midnight on the day it reaches 2,000 investors.

Yoni Assia added: “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for investors to access the resources they want. The demand for investment exposure in the rapidly growing medical cannabis industry is significant, as we have seen through the popularity of this fund at launch. We are pleased to be able to offer more investors access to this sector. Medical cannabis is a volatile industry and our CopyPortfolio Cannabis Care allows investors to diversify their exposure to the industry”.

Let us remember that eToro has also recently opened up to cryptocurrency trading, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Stellar, NEO, EOS, Cardano and IOTA.

eToro empowers people to invest on their own terms. The platform enables people to invest in the financial instruments they want, from cryptoassets to stocks and commodities. eToro is a global community of more than ten million registered users who share their investment strategies and anyone can follow the approaches of those who have been the most successful. Users can easily buy, hold and sell assets, monitor their portfolio in real time, and transact whenever they want.

eToro is regulated in Europe by Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and regulated in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority.
