January 30th at USI Lugano – the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland – there will be a new event organized by the Swiss Fintech and Legal Meetup.

The event is promoted by the association CryptoPolis and also by Lars Schlichting, CEO of Poseidon Group and Partner of the law firm Kellerhals-Carrard in Lugano.

The theme of the meetup will be fintech and regulation, given that last December 14th, the Swiss Federal Council published its report on the legal bases for distributed ledger and blockchain technologies in Switzerland.

The 160-page report explains in detal the Confederation’s strategy for the application of blockchain technology in the financial market. The meetup will then discuss with industry professionals how this report could change the banking business in the near future.

Alongside Schlichting, other speakers include Thomas Bertani, Director of Eidoo, and Daniela Rosa, Deputy Director of Banca Zarattini.31

The event is free, but registration is required on Meetup.
