“Ne è valsa la pena”, a new Italian song mentions bitcoin

Capo Plaza’s 2018 rap/hip-hop track “Ne è valsa la pena”, which translates to “It was worth it”, mentions bitcoin, proving that cryptocurrencies are becoming increasingly mainstream, often referred to in movies and songs.

In fact, in the lyrics of “Ne è valsa la pena”, the word bitcoin is present:

“Ho un impero, boy, come un maffutero, boy

Prima di iniziare ciba agli avvoltoi

Niente gratis, vorranno qualcosa in cambio prima o poi

Bitches vogliono i miei bitcoin”.

which translates to:

“I have an empire, boy, like a maffutero, boy

Before you start, feed the vultures

Nothing is free, they’ll want something in return sooner or later.

Bitches want my bitcoins”.

This song, made by Capo Plaza featuring the Italian rapper Ghali, is in the most listened top hits of 2018 according to Spotify.

Bitcoin towards the mainstream

As Bitcoin’s fortune grows, a number of films, songs and documentaries that mention the subject have begun to be released. In fact, starting in 2012, more and more audio-visual products related to cryptocurrencies are being produced. This means that the world of entertainment can be considered as a litmus test showing how a technology that is going mainstream can have a global impact.
