The most famous influencer in the crypto world, John McAfee, has promised via Twitter to reveal the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.
I protected the identity of Satoshi. It's time, though, that this be put to bed. Imposters claim to be him, we are spending time and energy in search of him – It's a waste. Every day I will narrow down the identity of Satoshi until he reveals himself, or I reveal him.

In reality, this initiative seems more like a publicity stunt than a real attempt to reveal who is hiding behind the identity of the creator of Bitcoin, however, since McAfee turns out to be in effect one of the most important influencers in this field, his tweet is arousing a lot of interest.
“I protected the identity of Satoshi. It’s time, though, that this be put to bed. Imposters claim to be him, we are spending time and energy in search of him – It’s a waste. Every day I will narrow down the identity of Satoshi until he reveals himself, or I reveal him”.
To confirm the hypothesis that he personally knows Nakamoto, McAfee posted another tweet with a hypothetical screenshot of an email received today from a certain Satoshi who encourages him to go ahead with this initiative.
In a previous tweet McAfee had revealed that, according to him, Satoshi is not the CIA, nor any other agency of any world government, but a group of people. However, he also stated that Bitcoin’s whitepaper would have been written by a single person who currently resides in the United States.
The influencer has also promised that over the next few days he will release more information until Satoshi is persuaded to reveal their identity.
However, it’s not certain whether in the end, should the real creator of Bitcoin decide not to come forward, McAfee would really reveal their identity.
Meanwhile, John McAfee is still a candidate for the US Presidency, although he is now living in exile outside the US due to problems with the tax authorities.
