Now you can send and receive cryptocurrencies with WhatsApp

As of today, WhatsApp users can send and receive cryptocurrencies via the messaging app. At present, the Lite.Im bot supports bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC), ethereum (ETH) and ZTX token (the platform’s token).

The company Zulu Republic, based in Zurich, announced this through a tweet. This is a company that develops tools based on the Ethereum blockchain and is one of the top 50 companies in the Swiss crypto valley.

Send and receive bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC) and ethereum (ETH) via WhatsApp

Through a tweet, the Zulu Republic announced that its messaging platform Lite.Im has found an easy way to send and receive bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC) and ethereum (ETH) with WhatsApp.

To send and receive cryptocurrencies via WhatsApp, simply add the Lite.Im bot to the messaging app and follow the on-screen instructions. There are several options in addition to sending and receiving BTC, LTC and ETH.

  • Such service allows, among other things, to:
  • Send cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, ZTX token);
  • Receive cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, ZTX token);
  • View transaction history;
  • Export private keys or recovery phrase (a message with a code for confirmation will be sent to the phone’s number, thanks to the default 2FA);
  • Change different settings (email, default crypto, password, phone, language);
  • Display operating instructions;
  • Referral program;
  • Request rewards from the referral program.

Facilitating bitcoin (BTC) transactions

SMS-based transactions using cryptocurrency are very useful, especially for the less technologically advanced. One of the major challenges of mass adoption is the fact that many users do not know how to send and receive cryptocurrencies.

Lite.Im already has a similar service that can be used via SMS, Facebook Messenger and Telegram.

According to the company, the use of mobile and social media is a very important component for crypto adoption. Sending and receiving bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC) and ethereum (ETH) through WhatsApp is a great choice.

The world’s most popular messaging app alone has more than 1.5 billion users worldwide. Through the use of mobile, it is possible to reach those areas such as Southeast Asia and Africa where the technology is certainly not at the level of the most developed countries.

More and more people are convinced that bitcoin (BTC) is a mature asset that can really meet users’ expectations.

According to the latest rumours, and thanks to this new feature, Lite.Im could soon find itself in competition with the cryptocurrency that Facebook is developing and that could soon become part of the new digital currencies.
