Coinomi guide: multi-coin wallet for smartphones and desktops

Coinomi is a simple and user-friendly multi-coin wallet available for Android and iOS devices and for desktops running the main operating systems. According to the information available on the official website, Coinomi was founded in 2014 and now has millions of customers, offering support to over 125 different blockchains.

This article, in addition to explaining the main features of the Coinomi wallet, will include a short installation and use guide for Android devices.

Coinomi: free and secure

Coinomi is a free wallet that supports thousands of tokens. Until recently, the project was open source and it was possible to see the source code or propose improvements to the development team through the dedicated GitHub page. The company then changed its corporate strategy to avoid the emergence of clones that were dangerous to users.

Coinomi: the supported cryptocurrencies

The number of supported cryptocurrencies is very high, including of course the most important and used ones, such as:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
  • Dash (DASH)
  • Dogecoin (DOGE)
  • Zcash (ZEC)

The complete list is available on the official website of the Coinomi wallet at the following web page.

The main features

The wallet provides a dual exchange service, complemented by ShapeShift and Changelly.

However, for the moment, not all cryptocurrencies supported by Coinomi are also supported by the two exchanges.

Account management and sending/receiving cryptocurrencies is extremely simple thanks to the clear graphics and the use of QR codes.

The application allows viewing the value of the coins held in the wallet converted into any of the more than 168 FIAT currencies available.

Coinomi: the guide for Android

First it is necessary to download the app from the Google Play Store to the device and install it.

It is highly recommended and necessary to write down the words that will appear on the device and keep them safe somewhere.

The user will then be prompted to enter the words previously displayed in the correct order.

At this point, an additional password will be required to protect the wallet. It must be at least 10 characters long.

Afterwards, it will be necessary to confirm the terms of service of the application. Subsequently, a very extensive list of all available and supported cryptocurrencies will be displayed and the user will be asked to select those in which they are interested.

At this point, the initial phase is over and the user will have access to the homepage from which it will be possible to navigate through the sections balance, send and receive by simply swiping left or right.

Following the first configuration, it will be very easy to add other cryptocurrencies at a later time, using a dedicated menu.
