A few minutes ago a statement was published by Block.one, the company behind the development of the EOS blockchain, announcing that it has recruited the most active and famous Block Producer (BP), EOS New York.
It was back in November 2017 when the 3 founders, Kevin Rose, Rick Schlesinger and William Deck and Warrick agreed to embark on the EOS adventure at the beginning of the following year, believing it would become a great blockchain.
EOS New York went live on June 14th, 2018, debuting at position 4 of the top 21 BPs; they were the first to reveal to the public the composition of their team and the first to engage with the EOS community in China.
And it was their uninterrupted commitment that led Block.one to recruit them, bringing on board a tremendously prepared and professional team, as Brendan Blumer, CEO of Block.one, pointed out:
“Over the years, Rick, Kevin, and their team have shown tremendous dedication, professionalism, and globally-inclusive collaboration, and we are excited for them to join our team”.
Their work, with a team of just under 10 people, will connect deeply with the community, promote ideas and initiatives, and so on, as Rick and Kevin of EOS New York said:
“The EOS public network offers unprecedented token holder alignment, network performance, and environmental friendliness, all while being powered and governed by a global token network with finite supply integrity. In our new role, we plan to listen to and work with communities to leverage Block.one’s digital asset positions to maximize the health and security of various public networks”.
This is good news for the entire EOS community, especially because this BP has established a beautiful relationship with all those who asked for help and have always made themselves available by interacting personally with the members of the blockchain community, but this acquisition also means that they will cease to be a BP: in fact, they are no longer in the BP rankings but will dedicate themselves to this new development path, leading the blockchain to expand further.
