TRON: new record for the number of accounts

Yesterday there was a new all-time high in the daily increase of number of accounts on the TRON blockchain. 

As noted by TronWallet’s Director of Communication and Marketing, Misha Lederman, in just one day, 65,226 new accounts were opened, bringing the total to almost 5.3 million accounts. 

The fact is that this is an increase in the total number of accounts of 1.2% in a single day, surpassing by 61% the previous record of 40,386 accounts registered on February 28th, 2019. 

The founder of TRON Justin Sun jokingly commented:

The truth is that yesterday there was no sensational news about TRON that could have generated such a sudden increase in interest, although it had already been a few days that the number of new daily accounts had started to grow. 

In fact, until April 8th they were not increasing by more than 10,000 per day, then they went up to about 15,000 per day from April 11th and then over 20,000 on April 16th. 

On the 17th and 18th of April they were about 25,000, and then literally exploded to over 65,000 on the 19th. However, the number of transactions has not increased proportionally. 

For example, on April 8th there were about 1.3 million, rising to 1.6 on April 12th. Then on the 17th, they fell below 1.3 million, rising to just over 1.5 million on the 19th. 

So, the boom in new accounts registered on April 19th did not generate a boom in the number of transactions, which on that day were even lower than on April 12th, for example. 

It may be that this increase may have been due to some dApp that may have convinced tens of thousands of people to register, even without making any transactions, or with the integration of TRX in Bidao. 

Actually, on April 15th there was the announcement of the JST token airdrop, though the dates do not coincide and the JST governance token may not be so appealing as to trigger an all-time for the number of new accounts.
