The Bitcoin SV hackathon will take place in June

The launch of the third edition of the Bitcoin SV (BSV) blockchain hackathon has been announced.

The competition is promoted and supported by the Bitcoin Association founded by Craig Wright, nChain and CoinGeek, and will feature a prize pool of $100,000 in BSV, divided between first ($50,000), second ($30,000) and third place ($20,000).

These prizes will be awarded to the winners for the creation of revolutionary products on the aforementioned BSV blockchain.

Compared to previous editions, this event will be completely virtual and will take place over 2 months, from June 23rd to August 18th, allowing anyone to participate worldwide.

The NYC CoinGeek Conference

The finalists will be awarded at the event in New York during the CoinGeek Conference to be held next October 2020. This will be a unique opportunity for developers, said Jimmy Nguyen, President of Bitcoin Association:

“It’s extremely exciting for Bitcoin Association to kick off our third BSV Hackathon, following months of work from our team planning for the competition. Developer training is a core element of Bitcoin Association’s work and the BSV Hackathons provide a fun opportunity for developers to test themselves and learn more about building applications on the Bitcoin SV blockchain, all the while competing for some serious BSV awards! We encourage all developers – whether you have worked on other blockchain platforms or have no blockchain experience at all – to compete in this Hackathon and build with us on BSV”.

Participants of the online hackathon

All the details about the hackathon can be found here in English. As can be seen, there are already several registered participants, from all countries, ready to develop their ideas including a notarization system on blockchain, a smart contract for tokens and so on.
