Today we will see how to create a faucet, which is a system for distributing SLP tokens – assets based on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain – to anyone in a Telegram group or supergroup, defining the amount and time parameters.
The blockchain and crypto sector has evolved over time and has found its greatest influence on various social media, especially Twitter and Telegram, and it is here that some interesting bots have been created, for instance, the one to create quizzes on the Zilliqa (ZIL) blockchain.
Before creating our faucet we will need a few things:
- The ID of an SLP token (we will use the one we created in this guide);
- The token ticker;
- tokens: enough to create the faucet. It is not necessary to create a token;
- A group or supergroup on Telegram, which has the MintSLPBot as a member.
The first thing to do is to either have or create a group on Telegram. It is very easy since from our account it is enough to select “Create group” and invite at least 2 accounts.
In this case, we add ourselves and the MintSLPBot. Then we will have to give a name to our group and approve it.
If we already have a group or supergroup, then simply invite the bot into the group.
At this point, we’re halfway through the process. Now we have to interact with the bot and create our own faucet.
This is the procedure to follow:
faucet > create [token id] > [token name] > [claim amount] > [claim wait time]
Remember that the parameters are customizable, for example it is possible to decide when each user can claim the tokens and for how long.
After submission, the bot will notify us that the faucet has been created.
The faucet is obviously empty and we have to fill it with our tokens.
To do this we have to interact privately with the bot and to do so we type “deposit” in the chat.
This will provide us with an address to send the tokens to, but first, we need to deposit them in our Mint Bot wallet and then type the following:
faucet > deposit [token id] [token amount]
Finally, we return to our group or supergroup where we have the faucet and we can type “claim” and finally obtain our token.
For other useful commands of this bot just write a private message to the bot by typing “faucet – help”, while if we want to get our tokens from this wallet then just type the following:
withdraw [token id] [amount] [slp address].
All that remains is to promote our group or supergroup on our platforms to have a greater engagement with users.
