Mintable: new Spider Man and Hulk NFTs in collaboration with Stan Lee

Mintable, a Singapore-based non-fungible token platform, today announced the launch of a limited edition NFT collection featuring comic book legend Stan Lee.

The series of the creator of the most famous superheroes including Spider-Man and Hulk, which will be auctioned on 6 August 2021 at 6 PM ET.

The auction will take place in conjunction with the unveiling of the Stan Lee Legacy Collection and includes three paintings by artist Rob Prior – titled “The Infinity Gauntlet,” “Introducing Stan Lee: Master of Magic” and “I Am Iron Man” – and five previously unseen photographs and videos of Lee gathered from the collection of his friend Jonathan Bolerjack, thus combining painting and pop art with NFT and the digital world.

This virtual event will give fans and collectors the opportunity to purchase large-format paintings and NFTs corresponding to each painting, while photos depict private moments captured in various public appearances and personal photos during his final days.

Internationally renowned painter Rob Prior said that in the two years leading up to Stan Lee’s passing, the two worked together to select and edit the work for the project, to the point where the physical works were personally signed by the comic book artist. In addition, on the subject of the distribution medium used, he said: 

“While he’s not here today to see it unveiled to the world, I can’t possibly imagine a more befitting medium than an NFT to showcase it”.

In addition, to complete the collection, a mystery NFT will be unveiled during a special livestream event with Joel Comm’s Bad Crypto Podcast, precisely one hour before the collection is released. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity in support of organizations fighting childhood illiteracy, a cause that has always been close to Stan Lee’s heart.

Stan Lee’s NFTs on Mintable

Mintable is a next-generation non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace based on the blockchain. To date, it has around 650 thousand users and has created more than 100 thousand NFTs.

The start-up was founded in 2018 with the intention of strengthening this sector by allowing artists and creators to monetize their work through new digital products.

In recent months, billionaire Mark Cuban, along with Doug Band and tech payments company Ripple, backed the Mintable platform by investing $13 million during Series A funding.

Zach Burks, CEO of Mintable, said,

“At Mintable, we wanted to design a drop format that would enable anyone to own a piece of Stan’s legacy through a mix of exclusive auctions and open editions designed for casual collectors as much as superfans”.

The Stan Lee Legacy Collection aims to celebrate the life and career of the father of Marvel comics not only for fans, but also for writers, editors and illustrators worldwide.
